Poundland rolls out Britain’s ‘best value’ £3 meal deal

Poundland has rolled out what it called “Britain’s best value meal deal,” costing shoppers just £3.

The new “Grab A Bite” meal deal includes a selection of items such as sandwiches, snacks, and drinks for customers to choose from.

The discounter claimed its new offering was set to raise the bar, as it introduced new options from “high quality companies” which already supply multiple retailers such as M&S.

It also noted the price point was not dependant on the need for a loyalty card, unlike many of its competitors.

Options in the deal include the retailer’s Grab A Bite chicken tikka wrap, cheese & pickle sandwich, a Ginsters Slice, Pringles, and San Pellegrino lemon, as well as hundreds of other choices.

Poundland head of chilled and frozen Kyle Storey said: “Our mission here at Poundland has always been to provide our customers with the best possible value, without compromising on taste or quality.

“With our new meal deal, we’re not only offering an unbeatable price, but also ensuring that everyone can access a delicious and satisfying meal without the need for a plastic loyalty card.”

The ranges have been developed in partnership with Greencore and On A Roll, a new fresh sandwich supplier from the North East of England.

To mark the launch, Poundland will be displaying blue plaques outside 20 of its best-performing lunchtime stores, promoting the fact that it offers Britain’s cheapest meal deal.

While earlier this month, its owner Pepco Group said the retailer’s first half performance fell “behind expectations” following an overhaul of its general merchandise range.
